Ready to take your fishing game to the next level? Our Livescope Training trip is your ticket to becoming a sonar pro. Whether you're struggling with settings, fish ID, or just want to fine-tune your techniques, we've got you covered. This isn't your average seminar – we're talking real, on-the-water experience that'll have you reading that screen like a pro in no time.
Forget those YouTube tutorials – nothing beats hands-on learning. We'll hop on your boat and dive deep into the world of live sonar. From tweaking those finicky settings to mastering the art of fish identification, we'll cover it all. And the best part? We're not just talking theory. We'll put what you learn to the test, targeting fish and improving your skills in real-time. Whether you're rocking Garmin, Lowrance, or Humminbird, we've got the know-how to maximize your setup.
First things first, we'll make sure your gear is up to snuff. Bring along a 32GB SD card, and we'll get your ActiveCaptain all set up and your software updated. Then, it's time to dial in those settings. We're talking sensitivity adjustments, color palettes, and all those little tweaks that can make a big difference. Once we've got your rig humming, we'll dive into techniques. You'll learn how to spot different species, interpret their behavior, and adjust your approach on the fly. It's like having X-ray vision for the water – and trust me, once you get the hang of it, you'll wonder how you ever fished without it.
"TJ came aboard our personal fishing boat to help us with the garmin livescope sonar equipment setup. He updated our software and configured the settings for optimal performance. We practiced livescope techniques. We had a great time with TJ. He was on point with everything we were using. We walked away with a better understanding of the electronics we invested in." - Nicholas
"If you are in the market for livescope tips, electronics configuration, or general knowledge of catching crappie, Taylor is your guy. Had a great time and a ton of fish made the traveling team!" - Nicholas
"TJ was a great & knowable guide. He definitely knew how to dial in Livescope & was very polite & courteous. Enjoyed the experience and gave me more confidence in the boat electronics I own. Plus we limited out on crappie. If your looking to learn more about fishing & the modern day electronics that most successful fishermen use, TJ's the guide to use for that next step up." - Stan
Now, I know what some of you old-school anglers might be thinking – "What happened to just feeling the bite?" Trust me, I get it. But here's the thing: Livescope doesn't replace your skills; it enhances them. It's like having a underwater spotting scope. You still need to know how to present your bait, set the hook, and play the fish. But now? You can see exactly what's happening down there. It's a game-changer for targeting specific species and understanding fish behavior in real-time.
Our Livescope Training trips are all about practical, hands-on learning. We'll spend our time on your boat, which means you'll be learning on the exact setup you'll be using day in and day out. Expect a mix of tech talk and actual fishing. We'll start by going over your current setup, making any necessary tweaks, and then hit the water to put theory into practice. And hey, while we're at it, don't be surprised if we put a few fish in the boat. After all, that's what it's all about, right?
While our Livescope Training isn't species-specific, it's a game-changer for targeting all sorts of fish. Crappie anglers, in particular, swear by it. These tasty panfish are known for suspending at specific depths, often around structure. With Livescope, you can literally watch your jig fall right in front of their noses. Bass anglers love it too – imagine being able to see that big ol' largemouth lurking under a laydown before you even cast. And for you walleye fanatics? Livescope can help you pinpoint those elusive 'eyes holding on deep structure or tracking schools of baitfish.
While we'll be working with your existing setup, it's worth noting that not all sonar units are created equal. Garmin's Livescope is the OG in this game, but Lowrance's ActiveTarget and Humminbird's MEGA Live are solid contenders too. Each has its strengths, and we'll help you squeeze every ounce of performance out of whichever brand you're running. Don't forget that SD card – it's crucial for updates and saving your custom settings. And if you're thinking about upgrades? We can chat about that too. Sometimes a simple transducer swap or software update can make a world of difference.
Sure, we'll cover the nuts and bolts of operating your unit, but that's just the start. We'll dive into advanced techniques like interpreting fish behavior based on their movements on the screen. You'll learn how to distinguish between species, spot key structure, and even track schools of baitfish. And let's not forget boat control – positioning is everything when you're working with live sonar. We'll show you how to use your trolling motor effectively to stay on fish and present your bait just right.
One of the coolest things about Livescope? It's an all-weather tool. Cloudy days that used to make sight fishing impossible? No problem. High winds making it tough to feel those light bites? Livescope lets you see them instead. We'll teach you how to adjust your settings for different conditions, making you a more versatile angler no matter what Mother Nature throws your way.
Let's be real – there is a learning curve with this tech. But that's exactly why hands-on training is so valuable. Instead of spending months figuring it out on your own, we'll help you shortcut that process. Many of our clients tell us they learn more in one day on the water with us than they did in months of trying to figure it out solo. And the best part? These skills are transferable. Once you understand the core concepts, you can apply them to any body of water, any species.
Ready to unlock the full potential of your electronics and take your fishing to the next level? Our Livescope Training trips are the fastest way to get there. You'll leave with a deeper understanding of your gear, newfound confidence in your abilities, and the skills to put more fish in the boat. And let's be honest – it's a whole lot of fun too. There's nothing quite like the "aha!" moment when it all clicks and you start seeing the underwater world in a whole new way. So why wait? Book your spot now and get ready to fish smarter, not harder. Trust me, your future self (and your fishing buddies) will thank you.

This was my second outing with Taylor over the last couple of years. I’ve fished with him now on (2) different lakes (2) different times of year and he is excellent at his job! Caught limits of fish on both trips!

Great Guide! I learned more about my Live scope in 30 minutes with TJ than I did after searching for a month on YouTube. From there we fished and were doing great until a battery issue on my boat brought us to a stop. TJ offered some good advise on upgrades to my batteries to eliminate issues in the future. Will definitely be booking with TJ again!

I feel as I can go out there with confidence and catch more Fish using my electronics now. Enjoyed the trip very much and would recommend him to anyone needing or would like to have a better understanding of their forward sonar as I did. Allen
