Ready to take your fishing game to the next level? Our Livescope training trips are designed to turn you into a sonar pro, whether you're just getting started or looking to fine-tune your skills. We'll hop on your boat and dive deep into the world of live sonar, covering everything from basic setup to advanced fish-finding techniques. By the end of the day, you'll be reading that screen like a pro and reeling in more fish than ever before.
This isn't your average fishing charter - it's a hands-on tech workshop on the water. We'll start by giving your electronics a once-over, making sure everything's updated and dialed in just right. Then we'll hit the lake, putting theory into practice as we hunt for fish. You'll learn how to interpret those blips and blobs on the screen, adjusting your approach based on real-time feedback. Whether you're rocking Garmin, Lowrance, or Humminbird, we've got you covered. And the best part? We'll be catching fish while we learn, so you can see firsthand how powerful these tools can be when used right.
We'll kick things off by diving into your boat's electronics. First up, we'll make sure your software is up to date - that's where that 32GB SD card comes in handy. Then we'll fine-tune your settings for optimal performance. We're talking sensitivity adjustments, color palettes, range settings - all the nitty-gritty that can make or break your day on the water. Once we've got the tech sorted, we'll move on to technique. You'll learn how to position your boat for the best Livescope views, how to distinguish between different types of fish, and how to present your bait in a way that turns those marks on the screen into fish in the boat. We'll cover everything from subtle jig presentations for finicky crappie to power-fishing techniques for aggressive bass.
"TJ came aboard our personal fishing boat to help us with the garmin livescope sonar equipment setup. He updated our software and configured the settings for optimal performance. We practiced livescope techniques. We had a great time with TJ. He was on point with everything we were using. We walked away with a better understanding of the electronics we invested in." - Nicholas
"If you are in the market for livescope tips, electronics configuration, or general knowledge of catching crappie, Taylor is your guy. Had a great time and a ton of fish made the traveling team!" - Nicholas
"TJ was a great & knowable guide. He definitely knew how to dial in Livescope & was very polite & courteous. Enjoyed the experience and gave me more confidence in the boat electronics I own. Plus we limited out on crappie. If your looking to learn more about fishing & the modern day electronics that most successful fishermen use, TJ's the guide to use for that next step up." - Stan
While our Livescope training can be applied to any species, we often focus on crappie as they're a perfect species for honing your skills. These pan-sized predators are known for their tight schools and sometimes finicky behavior, making them ideal targets for Livescope practice. In spring and fall, you'll often find them suspended around brush piles or along creek channels. During summer, they might be holding deeper, near underwater structure. With Livescope, you'll be able to see these fish in real-time, watching how they react to your bait and adjusting your presentation on the fly. It's a game-changer for crappie fishing, turning those "I think they're down there somewhere" moments into precise, targeted catches.
Bass are another species where Livescope can really shine. Whether you're targeting largemouth around shallow cover or spotted bass suspended over deeper structure, live sonar can help you present your bait with surgical precision. You'll learn how to identify individual fish, determine their size, and even predict their behavior based on how they're positioned. It's like having X-ray vision for the water column, and once you've mastered it, you'll wonder how you ever fished without it.
Look, we get it - investing in high-end electronics is a big deal, and there's nothing more frustrating than having all that technology and not knowing how to use it to its full potential. That's where we come in. This isn't just about learning which buttons to push - it's about developing a whole new way of seeing and understanding the underwater world. By the end of our trip, you'll have the skills and confidence to make the most of your Livescope system, no matter where or what you're fishing. So why wait? Book your Livescope training trip today and start fishing smarter, not harder. Trust us, your future self (and your fishing buddies) will thank you.

This was my second outing with Taylor over the last couple of years. I’ve fished with him now on (2) different lakes (2) different times of year and he is excellent at his job! Caught limits of fish on both trips!

Great Guide! I learned more about my Live scope in 30 minutes with TJ than I did after searching for a month on YouTube. From there we fished and were doing great until a battery issue on my boat brought us to a stop. TJ offered some good advise on upgrades to my batteries to eliminate issues in the future. Will definitely be booking with TJ again!

Taylor had went above and beyond with the help I needed on setting up and showing what we were looking at on my active target. I feel as I can go out there with confidence and catch more Fish using my electronics now. Enjoyed the trip very much and would recommend him to anyone needing or would like to have a better understanding of their forward sonar as I did. Allen
